Once I went to college, reading meant learning about forces and beams, math equations, and the history of racism. I'm thankful I went to a school that offered me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of more than just engineering and science. I honestly can't remember reading a book for leisure in college and, if I did, I couldn't tell you the title of the books. I vaguely remember reading the Harry Potter series with the exception of the last 200 pages of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows most likely because my adult ADD kicked in and I couldn't fathom reading an entire 759-page book.
I've read several books in the past few years to include all of the Gillian Flynn novels (I apparently love the excitement and gore of a good thriller) and The Girl on the Train which I thought was awesome until I read everyone else in the world's review on it: to be described as "depressing", "boring", "a hot mess", and "a huge disappointment". Thank God we aren't characterized by the books we read because if we were I'd be a depressing and boring hot mess that disappoints the people around her (eek!).So it's clear, at least to me, that I enjoy being around books and, every now and then, actually reading a novel or two. However, it is also quite clear that because I like being around books, I have many (okay most...) in my house that I have not yet read. There are the books that I insisted on buying at a used book store, but never read, the books my husband has, that, more than likely, neither of us have read, and then there are the I was going to get a masters in education but at the last minute decided not to but had already bought the first semester books books, that I most definitely did not read.

Can it be done?
I'm not quite sure.
But I'm going to at least try!
Here goes nothing....
